These terms govern your use of Gitit ("the Service"), an assignment-authenticity platform operated by the Gitit team ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Authentication is handled by Clerk. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You agree not to:
Gitit offers a Free plan with soft limits and a paid Pro plan ($5 USD per month or $48 USD per year). Paid plans are sold by our merchant of record, Paddle.com, who handles payment, invoicing, and applicable sales tax / VAT / GST on our behalf.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. In short: we offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for first-time Pro subscribers, no questions asked.
Where applicable, we act as a "school official" under FERPA with a legitimate educational interest in student records. See our FERPA statement and Privacy Policy for details on how we handle student data.
You retain all rights to the writing you create with Gitit. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content for the purpose of operating the Service (e.g., showing replays to your teacher, generating integrity reports). We do not claim ownership of your work and we do not train AI models on student writing.
We aim for high uptime but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, or experience outages. We are not liable for losses caused by downtime.
You can stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without notice, particularly where student safety is at risk.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Integrity scores and replay analyses are tools to assist teachers — they are not infallible judgements of academic dishonesty. Final decisions rest with the educator.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in India, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your own country.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and notify active users in-app. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
